Through the study of the infrastructure design of cities, biodiversity, our role in protecting ecosystems, reduction of greenhouse gasses, and the positive impact on a global society, students will research how natural spaces in and around a city can promote public health and protect the natural resources in an already established ecosystem. Ultimately, students will research and explore the natural spaces in and around our school community and their impact on the well-being of their fellow citizens. Students will use the binoculars to observe and collect data on the flora and fauna in our unique environment so close to the Florida Everglades. They will move beyond the classroom to search for animals and insects alike and will collect data about these local ecosystems and habitats to share with their global community.
