The students we work with have more difficulty maintaining attention and focus than most students for so many different reasons. These seating options give them a sense of comfort and control which increases their feeling of security. When they feel safe and engaged, they can learn new information better. The students can use these items as they work individually, in pairs, or in small groups as part of differentiated learning that meets their needs. They allow some movement and changing body positions while still giving some structure to the learning environment. With these options, they can attend longer to a task and work better as a team.
