My students need lower level reading levels in teenage themed books. My students will feel their reading abilities grow and blossom as they learn the vocabulary of the text and enjoy the storyline. Their success will be transferred to other core and elective classes they attend as well as translating to everyday needs of reading recipes and following directions. I am hoping that as their reading abilities increase, they will be able to go out into the world and read a job application, follow the instructions and complete it successfully. I hope that they will be able to read and follow a bus schedule, read and order from a restaurant menu, and sign in to a doctors office patient portal.

About my class
