Imagine walking into a classroom of students that have odds against them daily. They're sitting in an environment where you can see learning is happening. They are exceptional learners that are regulating their own bodies in areas that are filled with self-help tools such as pillows to sit on while reading or twirling fidgets to help to regulate emotions and strong impulsion. They are sitting in a small group succeeding in their phonics and reading fluency lessons by playing phonics games that are available to them while having a great time. They are in an environment that they can enjoy every minute of learning instead of being afraid or embarrassed about learning. Every student has the right to learn and be able to control their own space by being allowed the freedom to regulate themselves with the right amount of support and guidance. These are the tools needed to achieve exceptional teaching and learning for students who are far more than exceptional but inspiring and inspirations to everyone.
