Students will have lots of different choices to meet their bodies needs while still engaging in the learning. Whether they need to wiggle or sit close to the floor or bounce or rock, they can all find what works best to help them stay engaged. When I teach small groups, we can use wobble stools or sit on cushions on the ground. When a student is reading to me or practicing math, they can use a bounce ball to keep their body moving while still engaging their mind. Students who move their body have an easier time staying focused on their best learning. They will retain more of what is taught and be more excited to do their best reading, writing, and math.
