Cracking the code of reading is difficult for students with special needs. Using lessons from the science of reading and decodable books will help them meet this goal. Struggling with a reading disability means that you have to work that much harder to crack the code. We know that reading is the key to success in other academic areas and it’s critical that they master the early components of phonemic awareness, phonological skills, phonics and deciding to read. This project will give them the tools to learn and engage with books at their levels.
