I believe that by incorporating reading tablets into our classroom it will build literacy. The tablets will also allow each individual student to build upon reading skills at their own pace. There are a variety of education reading sites that target skills such as: letter and sound recognition, word building, sight word recognition, and sentence building etc. Struggling readers will be able to build foundational reading skills. Fluent readers will be able to access more challenging reading materials. The tablets will allow each child to work upon improving their targeted daily reading skills. Through the use of weekly assessments with the tablets we will be able to track student growth. The tablets will be easy for the children to handle, and the websites will be easy for the children to navigate.
