So often, our multilingual and multicultural students do not have access to classroom materials that represent their unique identities. As a result, these students often feel like they have to be a different person at school than they are at home. Help me bridge this gap for my students by providing them with classroom materials and a full classroom library that has characters that look like them and have experienced similar journeys as they have. Every students should be represented in classroom curriculum. This includes their culture and their languages. Not only will my students feel welcomed and celebrated in our school, but it will also encourage students to find a love for reading.
