Due to the pandemic, my students have missed out on countless social opportunities both in the classroom setting and through canceled extracurricular activities. They have missed out on learning crucial social skills through play and have limited experience interacting with peers and individuals outside of the immediate family. I can use the supplies, as an anchor, to strengthen my students social emotional skills. The books will provide examples of desired responses to social challenges. As a result of the learning, I anticipate the students will manage and navigate through peer conflicts in safe and healthy ways; therefore, strengthening our overall classroom community. Finally, the book bins will support the overall classroom library organization. With our books neatly organized and sorted, students will be able to locate and replace books appropriately. The desired outcome will promote student independence and responsibility.
