My students live in an urban location in the state of DE. For many of them, this is their first experience in school. The school I teach at has a high percentage of children at or below the poverty level. My students are "at-risk" because of the demographics of the school. I strive to provide a classroom with high expectations and rigor. I firmly believe that high expectations, regardless of background, ARE self-fulfilling prophecies. My students need to be organized and a chair pocket will help. This will enable all of my students to have a place to store their materials.
