Our classroom is an active place. We do hands-on science and math activities. The children sit on the carpet and the tile floor but we all agree that it's time to ditch our desks! We have 20 traditional style desks. They are considerably aged and not one out of four legs is the same height as the other. This produces an incredibly distracting clanking noise when children move. Multiply the clanking times 20. Yikes! We feel that new tables would decrease the noise level in our classroom, make it easier to collaborate and create a beautiful classroom that we could be proud.
