I am requesting hands-on games and items to make learning to communicate less boring. I have used flash cards in the past, but they are boring to the students after they are used for too long. All of my students have special needs. It is difficult for them to sit still and focus because of various disabilities. Giving kids the opportunity to communicate is important so I can monitor their needs and help correct their errors. Students need to be able to communicate by describing what they may need in an emergency or in everyday life. If students have items they can touch and feel, they seem to open up and talk about numerous things. They are more engaged and things seem to sink in better when they are given hands-on opportunities.
