My students are extremely diverse and all coming together to learn in a bilingual Pre-K classroom; I want them to use these family and culture theme boxes to explore various family structures and cultural norms hands-on. Students will be able to compare and contrast their own families with the other students more easily with these photo cards, toys, puzzles, and teaching materials included in the family theme box. Pre-K begins the year with an 'All About Me Unit' including where our families come from; the cultures theme box would provide my students with various hands-on activities and examples to help us grasp and appreciate this concept. Lastly, I am asking for a Space-Saver Dress Up center for my students to easily store all of their dramatic play materials. With this, we can dress up and act like family members, pretend with multi-cultural clothing, and tie our themes together by playing and learning!
