Students need colorful visuals that they can refer back to, to easily keep math concepts fresh. As students discover patterns in math, we will create meaningful charts that are personalized to the students' needs. Math is all about the patterns, and once we discover the patterns, anchor charts will serve as reminders of how those patterns work so they can apply the concept in practice. Learning math can be a challenge for all students, but especially those who feel they will never be good at it. By creating individualized anchor charts for my students, I aim to make math less scary and more accessible. Students will help to create the charts and they will be hung in the classroom, easily accessible by all students while we work on applying those patterns to real-world problems.
