Our school district started a new reading program this year. The first module of the reading program ended with "Green Eggs and Ham" by Dr. Seuss. My first graders are so proud that they can read this book on their own and want to read it to everyone! Many of my students don't have access to books at home. Lack of access to books creates a huge barrier to becoming a proficient reader. I would love to give this book to my students for Christmas, so they can read it to their families. This would give them a book of their very own and allow them to have continued fluency practice outside of school.
