Our classroom currently has hard plastic chairs for the book corner and iPad centers. These are uncomfortable and not a place to encourage independent reading time, nor for using an iPad for a while. By having the soft, comfortable Floor Seats and Soft Seat cushions, the children will have a warm, inviting place to go for reading and using iPads. It is my hope that a colorful, child-friendly, comfortable seating space will help foster positive feelings about reading. The children are also required to use the iPads for seventy minutes per week for math and reading, which means they need a very comfortable spot to sit.
