My students have shown a great interest in learning beyond the curriculum set out for them. As a first year teacher, I have limited resources currently in my classroom. My hope is to build a science library so the students will be able to open their minds to an ever changing world of all the different fields of science. Students will be able to choose books that interest them and explore a whole new world to them. The student library will be a place for independent reading at their grade level which will increase their reading abilities. The books I have selected include books that go along with our units of study, along with topics of interest to students such as Marine Biology and Women in Science.
