My students will have access to the art room’s basic needs with rulers, glue, paper towels and hand soap. However, whats really exciting is the access they will have to acrylic paint for the first time on this campus. In addition, they will also have an amazing metal sculpture project. I have done a newspaper and masking tape sculpture project, and I have never seen so much excitement and engagement. I feel excited just thinking about the amazing energy in the room as I type. Students learn not only how to build something that is visually and physically balanced, while aesthetically pleasing, but they learn life long lessons of creative problem solving.
