In these unknown times due to Covid-19 and the financial burden it is causing on families, I am trying to make it to where the parents of my students will have one less thing to worry about for next school year. I teach at a Title 1 school where 89% of our students are below the poverty line, and 100% of our kids get free breakfast and lunch. The last thing my kids and their parents need to worry about is whether or not their child will have the supplies needed to be successful. My students will use these materials every day in order to complete assignments. My students will also use these materials to express their creativity during art time. These individual supply boxes will help ensure that students not only have what they need to complete assignments, but it will help give my students a sense of pride and ownership of something that belongs to them. Each box will have the student's picture and name so that they know which box belongs to them.
