Kids who are surrounded by books have a better chance of succeeding, and everyone understands the power of a good story to inspire and teach. The Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Library project can help address both literacy and SEL goals for my students. By providing my students with powerful stories of empathy, courage, grit, and growth mindset, I will be able to help them develop the social-emotional skills needed to tackle learning and life. I'll be developing lessons for each of the titles in this collection and the books will also be used by teachers during story time, read by students independently, or even read school-wide as we celebrate our community of learners.

About my class
