Our students are a lively, inquisitive group of three-year olds! We are a rainbow of colors, nationalities, faiths, and cultures. But we are a family first! This is my district's second year to offer PreK-3 and we have learned a lot from our first year. Our students can learn!!! We are not babysitting. All of my students learn letters, numbers, shapes, and scientific concepts. While we do often learn through exploring and play at this age, we learn letters and words through READING! We read many books during class, but most of my kids are low-income and families do not have books in their home. This project gives these kids access to reading at home, strengthening bonds with their families and reinforcing their classroom learning.
