We use the skeleton to have a 3 dimensional view of the bones instead of just looking at pictures. The other advantage is to be able to actually see how the joints form. When we start studying the skeletal system, we will use the skeleton on a daily basis with the goal of each student being able to identify all the bones in the human body. Having a 3 dimensional life size skeleton will not only make it easier to learn but also make it more realistic for students. We will also continue to use the skeleton to refer to for other body systems as well.
