These books will help students in both the whole group setting and small group settings. In the small groups, students will have more of a choice of which books they want to explore. In the whole group setting, students will be challenged using the Louisiana Believes curriculum. This book choice and curriculum encourages students to make connections to other pieces of literature and connections to their own lives. In addition, the book The Lion, the Witch,and the Wardrobe will connect to the social studies curriculum being taught within the fifth grade. These books will help students understand both subjects to a greater degree.
