With the push towards inclusion (which I wholeheartedly support), special education students are spending more time in the general education classroom. This learning environment can often be over stimulating and difficult for this population of students. They need a safe, sensory-friendly space to help balance their emotional well-being and support their academic growth. My goal is to provide ALL students in my co-taught classrooms with additional seating choices to help support their learning. I want to give students comfortable seating options that include: wobble cushions, lap desks, and bouncy bands. These options will help students focus in the classroom and grow in their learning; especially the students whose needs extend beyond their typical developing peers. Please consider helping me meet the needs of all students in my classroom. Thank you so much.
