I hope to give my students opportunities that would otherwise not be possible due to local income levels. Some kids come to school without the essentials to be academically successful. The use of classroom calculators that are all alike will create continuity and students can help each other and learn together. Students with lower math skills tend to have less confidence due to working slower. Building confidence will increase engagement of the students as well as productivity. As an educator, I feel it is my duty to provide my students with every tool and resource available to encourage their success. Calculators will be used as a tool to help build confidence and lessen stress but will not take the place of the "brain".
