A theme of first grade is creating independent, self sufficient learners. Having specific spaces around the classroom where students can easily access an use materials on their own is essential in showing scholars that they are in charge of their own learning. While the kitchen may be the heart of a home, our library is the heart of the classroom. This is where students choose books to fit their interest, discover new genres and authors, and have the opportunity to see books recommended by others. The supplies will create a library space where students feel comfortable enough to truly become lost in a great book!

About my class
