Our high school is adding a 3D Design course to our Visual Arts options this year, and, as this was not offered in previous years, the art rooms are seriously lacking in tools and media for sculpting, carving and modeling. To ease time constraints in the classroom, a carving and modeling set for each student is needed as well as sculpting media such as wood, stone and foam. This curriculum will be beneficial for students in our AP Art program that would like to submit a 3D Design portfolio and enhance the introductory art curriculum by teaching the students to apply design principles "in the round". Many design and engineering career fields focus on these design principles, and it will help our students interested in pursuing these careers get a head start mastering these skills and concepts.
