In 4th grade, we work hard on developing our math, writing and social emotional skills. In math, we will use the place value chips as well as the dice will allow students to enjoy learning place value while using manipulatives. Social-emotional growth is incredibly important, especially for young students. The social emotional cards will not only encourage higher-level thinking, but also allow students to work on their writing. These cards as well as the Consequences Game will also help students learn empathy through discussion prompts. Writing is a difficult subject to teach, especially to students that are English Language Learners. Using the writing charts will give these English Language Learners effective visuals that will aid them in their writing growth.

About my class
