Sitting for any amount of time can be challenging for 5 and 6-year- olds. Research shows that flexible seating empowers students by providing alternative seating choices. Students take more ownership in learning when they have some control over their learning environment. Alternative seating such as sensory cushions, wobble balls and fidget bands provide this opportunity. Flexible seating can help a classroom of diverse learners find physical and emotional comfort, leading to increased focus and learning! Using a variety of special seating options, I hope to provide my kindergarteners with this advantage. Please help my amazing students fund this exciting project!
