My students have moderate/severe disabilities, and my goal is to teach them and increase their skills to help them succeed in life. Puzzles are my students favorite independent choice activity. In class, we have a library corner with activities the students can complete independently. Puzzles benefit my students by working on their cognitive skills, problem-solving, fine motor development, hand and eye coordination, social and self-esteem. When I plan lessons, I have to get creative and come up with as many possible forms to relate the information: words, pictures, videos, and hands-on activities like puzzles. These puzzles will give my students more choices, and the variety of puzzles can support their learning in a different form. These puzzles can teach them about the United States, Community Workers, the Alphabet.
