The books that I am requesting for my students will enable them to participate in Book Clubs. I have some books in my room, but not multiple copies of the same book. The books I have requested will be a great start for this project-based learning experience! Students are in charge here - choosing their books, creating a reading schedule, and coming up with topics of discussion. I can't wait for them to finally have some choice in what they read and for them to direct their learning. With the gift of these books, students will be able to take the books home with them and not have their reading limited to just the classroom. Students in the book club will include students with learning disabilities and students from low-income homes who may not be able to afford to buy books on their own.
