My district funding is poor and in order to have a classroom that I feel my students deserve to learn in, I've decided to try and make it a brighter and better place with some of the necessary resources. The items on my list are basic but necessary. The borders, alphabet borders, and number line are essential to the 2nd grade reading and math curriculum. The bookshelves are out of necessity to hold my reading and math materials in an organized fashion and easily accessible. Materials such as glue sticks are not supplied by the district or students, and having those on hand in a second grade classroom is essential. These are a few of the remaining important pieces to completing my classroom. I hope you see the value and need for supporting my young learners.
