Many preschool students learn through discovery and using a multi-faceted learning approach. The more opportunities they have to touch and feel items with their hands, look and explore with their eyes, the more engaged they are in the learning process. Many of the students in my class have extremely low attention spans, so hands-on activities are critical for engaging them in being an active participant in individual or group activities. I am consistently trying to find and use manipulatives to enhance their learning through engaging science experiences. I want children to be excited to learn about science, and with the aid of these science materials, it will give them that opportunity.
