My 11th grade students are participating in the Hamilton Education Program. They need reliable tools for conducting research around the Revolutionary War period. Students dive into history through primary source research and analysis and produce original work using their creative license. My 10th graders need to learn to navigate the web. They must learn sourcing, close reading, corroboration and analysis when conducting research. These are vital skills for the 21st century learner. Having to share a laptop cart with the other members of the history department prevents student from being able to access the internet and use its array of research tools every class meeting. Ugh. I will need 35 more laptops, so I suppose I will have to request more computers incrementally. Thank you for what you do to support public education. Your donations really make a difference in the lives of our young people.
