My students would benefit from an iPad to assist them in communicating their wants and needs and socializing with teachers and peers, as well as, improving listening comprehension and expressive language. In addition, the use of an iPad will allow me to take pictures and create video modeling that will help my students learn functional life skills such as washing hands, waiting for the bus, taking turns etc. Many of my students are visual learners and are motivated by technology. There are many apps available that provide auditory feedback so students can improve their articulation skills. Other apps can help students practice a variety of language concepts such as answering questions, learning vocabulary, improving categorization skills, story sequencing and retelling stories just to name a few. Students can work on their communication skills and have fun while they are doing it.
