My students, often, do not have access to learning toys in their homes. In the class, we try to proved “toys” that facilitate learning. With the different kinds of manipulative “toys”, they will develop many skills, both physical and educational. The students will develop the pinching skill which is a fine motor pre-writing skill. Another physical skill they will develop is better controlled gross motor skills. Also, they will use higher level thinking which is required to complete the activities. Many students will even achieve the higher thinking levels when they have mastered the activities because they will peer instruct classmates who are not there, yet.
