Circular seating provides more social and emotional interaction among students than rectangular tables do. It provides a better sense of community learning and will lead to more academic growth and partner learning and sharing. Materials are placed in a shared container in the middle of the table. Students will stay seated longer, as they are in closer proximity to their peers. This will promote more classroom structure and management, providing a more positive, secure learning environment for all students. Circular tables also take up less room in the classroom, providing more floor spaces for independent learning areas!
