This is my first semester teaching a brand-new Film as Literature class for grades 10-12 at a public high school in Buckeye, Arizona. Students are able to choose this class as an elective in which they are able to analyze "classic" films the same way they would books. We discuss topics that would be covered in a standard English class such as: theme, plot, symbolism, imagery, style, satire, characterization, etc. Each week students take notes on the genre and complete a related assignment or project. The majority of the movies are not available for free streaming; therefore, I am reaching out for assistance in purchasing these movies.
