Students utilize the bike stands that we are looking at to repair, break down, and ultimately work on all aspects of our bikes. They are able to break a bike down to the frame in order for that metal to be recycled. Without the stands, students struggle to get all the pieces off the bike to accomplish such tasks. Each day they work on different bikes that have been donated or collected by our city and brought here. Because bikes cannot be recycled as is, they need to be broken down. That way they can recycle the metal, and utilize the parts on other bikes if the bike they are working on is not going to be able to be rebuilt. These repair stands will help with both building and breaking down the bikes.
