The title of my project is "Rene Magritte: The Surreal Process." Students will study the surreal, self-portraits of Rene Magritte. After observing Magritte's artwork, the students will explain what they see. Next, students will create a self-portrait with an object covering their face (just like Magritte). Students will be asked to illustrate themselves wearing dressy clothes and a hat. On another note, having new tables will make a huge difference in my classroom. My students will be able to work better, knowing that they are sitting a table that doesn't wobble. I described the first lesson of the year on this page, however, there are many more projects that my students will create during the school year and beyond! We use a variety of mediums such as: acrylic paint, markers, oil pastel, watercolors, color pencils and mixed media to create collage and sculpture. Thank you in advance for your generous support!
