Today, technology is becoming increasingly important. Along with learning how to read and write students need important 21st century skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, learning how to collaborate, and and becoming digitally literate. Not only does technology, Fire tablets, make learning engaging and fun, but it also allows me to offer a variety of extension and intervention activities to my students. Subjects that students consider "boring" can become more enjoyable with the use of videos and virtual lessons. Also, students retain more information when technology is involved. Technology assists students in learning at their own pace. Many apps allow individualized instruction that can be adjusted to meet each students needs. With daily access to reliable technology my students will be able to feed their interests in learning, and spark a desire to become life long learners. Help me allow my students to 'feel the burn' of becoming a well-rounded 21st century learner!
