My sophomores are from a low-income district where over half the students in the district are on a free or reduced lunch program. We are part of a small PK-12 school of less than 500 students. Our school fosters an environment that allows older students to be very visible role models for our younger students. My students would very much enjoy sharing their favorite children's stories, discovering sophisticated writing strategies and patterns in children's' literature, interviewing second graders, drafting, illustrating, and publishing a story of their own about their second grade partners and then sharing their stories and giving them as gifts to their second graders. My students would love to be featured on our school's website and in our newsletter as well. The camera will help us do just that.
