Having flexible seating in my classroom will allow for the needs of each learner to be met. With student choice being my priority, I want students to be able to work around the room comfortably. The classroom should be student centered and flexible seating is one of many ways to hand them control of their learning. As they continue in their schooling they will become more and more independent, allowing them to have to choose which learning environment is best for their success. I want my classroom to be a place where they begin to learn this lifelong skill of becoming a independent learner. The materials I am looking to purchase will help each student find their perfect place in the classroom. The wobble cushions, floor seats, kick bands, stools, raised tables and rockers are all some examples of places my students will be able to find the perfect spot where they are most engaged. Each student learns and focuses in different ways. This project will help turn our classroom into a place where all students feel they can be comfortable and successful!
