I am requesting a classroom license for the website, Nearpod. I currently use Nearpod to enhance my instruction. Unfortunately, I am currently using the free version, which only allows me to save a certain amount of lessons. I'm fast approaching that number, which means I will have to delete lessons that I have taken the time to create to make room for new lessons. I feel Nearpod is a valuable learning resource for my students. This website allows me to create lessons, I can then present these lessons to the whole class and I control their computer screens. When I have a question inserted students can answer that question, they may choose to draw an answer or type an answer. This is great for differentiation, as I have students whose first language is something other than English. So Nearpod allows them to draw the answer if they are struggling for the words. I believe Nearpod allows EVERY student in my class to have a voice. I have a few very soft-spoken, shy students, Nearpod allows them to give me an answer without having to talk in front of their peers. Nearpod provides equity to every student in my classroom. In addition, after the lesson, I can view how every child in the class answered the question. It saves every child's work in the form of a report! The license will also allow my students to work at their own pace, with the free version, I only have the choice to control their screen. Imagine if a student just isn't getting the concept, I can have them work at their own pace to review the lesson!
