This school year, I get to work with 83 amazing fourth graders at a rural school in Scott County, KY. Our little hilltop school has around 430 students K-5 and only 3 classes per grade level. Our school has a high percentage of students who come from a low socio-economic background, but that doesn't limit the potential of any of our students to grow and learn! Our school is like a family, and we all work to support one another in and out of the classroom. My classroom is always buzzing and busy! Students love to collaborate and share their ideas. Fourth grade is the first year that our students switch classes throughout the day, which means we are on a tight schedule! We have lots of learning to do, and my students work hard to achieve their goals.
