Math students deserve the opportunity to relate what they are learning in the classroom to what they experience in day to day life. In the past, my students have analyzed statistics to help decrease percentages of bullying in our school. They also met with a restaurant owner to calculate what goes behind having a profitable business. However, the numbers we use in real life are more difficult to compute out by hand than your average math problem. Please support my students by allowing them to use these new scientific calculators for when they apply their math skills to experiences that relate to their world.
