Our curriculum has quite an extensive genetics unit. It can be the most fun unit for the students because they are learning about their own bodies. Without hands-on inquiry activities and these biotechnology tools it can also be the most boring unit. These gel electrophoresis kits will allow students to act like forensic scientists by solving mysteries through the separation of DNA. By using hands on learning and biotechnology in the classroom students will be more engaged and learn better by doing and exploring themselves. At Central we try and encourage our students to dig in and do science themselves. We have found this is the best way for our students to engage and really know SCIENCE RULES!!!
