Over the years I have realized that students need a variety of stimulants to help them with reading, performing and study skills. Studies show that if you project the words of a text as well as have each student following along individually in a text, it improves their concentration and helps to keep them focused and on task. This can also be used to stimulate discussion and create group projects in class. I will be using the document camera in my English classes to aid in student understanding of texts we read in class and in my theatre classes to allow students the opportunity to record and critique student performances. Improving my classroom for my students has always been my priority. Document cameras often help students' interaction with each other and the text or performance they are viewing. For this reason, a document camera is almost a necessity in any English, ESL or theatre classroom. It has a variety of uses to enhance student learning. It helps to stimulate discussion among students and helps to create a more interactive classroom environment.
