Reading is an essential building block on which a solid educational foundation is built. With so many reading resources available through technology-based sources, computers are now a necessity in the classroom. Unfortunately, it is difficult for rural schools to supply teachers with up-to-date technology. As much as I would like to equip each student with a computer, I realize reaching that goal will take some time. I would like to see my students have at least four fully-functioning laptops at their disposal. Students depend on computers so much in the classroom using programs such as Accelerated Reader and iReady. These programs have been proven to show reading growth and success in students. Any help that these students receive will be greatly appreciated and will help a great group of students succeed!
