Parents/guardians already struggle with their child having an IEP and what that all means. Right now, they are coming into a room that has a mixture of different types of chairs and it is very unwelcoming for parents. The school was able purchase tables, but not the chairs to go with it, so it is very uninviting for parents. With your help and support these chairs would add a space to let parents feel they are welcomed and that they were not just a last minute thought for the special education meeting room that right now is just a hodgepodge of chairs for them to sit on. Having a more inviting space allows parents and students to sit and be more at ease with the IEP process. This ability to have them more at ease allows all in the room including administration, students, families and service providers to be in a relaxed state and deescalate any uneasy feelings one sometimes has from their child, or the child himself, being on an IEP.
